Allen Iverson Places 3 Lakers on Top 5 All-Time List

Allen Iverson recently listed his five all-time greatest players in NBA history, and three Los Angeles Lakers players made the final cut.

Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant are among the most revered Lakers players of all time, while LeBron James is currently playing his second year for the Purple and Gold.

O’Neal and Bryant led L.A. to three straight titles in the early 2000s and the latter added two more titles to the Lakers’ championship collection following O’Neal’s departure. Both players won MVP awards while playing for the franchise.

James’ best years were spent playing with the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers. He then chose to sign with the Lakers as a free agent last year. Six games into the 2019-20 season, it appears as though James plans on extending his prime to this year and beyond. The four-time MVP is currently leading the Lakers’ 6-1 record, good for best in the NBA.

The subject of the greatest players in league history is always going to be subjective and Iverson just added fuel to the debate with a list of his own. The fact that he named three Lakers players among the all-time greats speaks volumes about how dominant the franchise has been in acquiring talent throughout its rich history.

Iverson is a Hall of Famer and was named MVP in 2001. He led the league in scoring four times and was voted an All-Star 11 times in his career.
