LeBron James has been widely considered to be the best player in the NBA for a long time now.
However, there are those who believe that reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has surpassed the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. Channing Frye, who played with James with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2016 to 2018, is certainly not one of them.
Asked by a Twitter follower whether or not he believes Antetokounmpo is currently better than James, Frye responded that the Milwaukee Bucks forward still has a long way to go to reach James’ level.

James’ body of work proves that he is still the standard by which other players are measuring themselves. In his 17th season, James is continuing to produce elite numbers. He is averaging 25.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and an NBA-leading 10.6 assists per game this season.
What makes this more impressive is that James is doing it after having logged 1,198 regular season games prior to the 2019-20 season. Additionally, he has played in 239 playoff games that resulted in three championships.
While Antetokounmpo is playing out of his mind right now, he is still playing catch-up with James until he shows he is capable of winning a title and performing consistently for many seasons.
