Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is currently making a serious bid to be named MVP by the end of the 2019-20 season.
A couple months ago, however, many fans and experts thought this season was going to go very differently. Many expected both James and the Lakers to disappoint fans just like they did last season.
As it turns out, James kept a list of all those doubters. He admitted as much when ESPN’s Dave McMenamin asked him if he kept a “Washed King list” to help fuel him this season.
“I’m fueling myself,” James first said before cracking a slight smile. “My teammates is fueling me, my kids is fueling me and the list is fueling me as well.”
There are a quite a few major figures in the sports world that expressed their doubt that James would be able to maintain the same level of dominance that he has displayed nearly all of his NBA career. So far, he’s proven to be the same old monster that fans have come to know and love since he entered league.
Through 24 games this season, Jame is averaging 25.9 points, 10.8 assists and 6.8 rebounds per game. Not only that, he has helped the Lakers earn a commanding hold on the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference with a record of 21-3.
There is a lot of season left to be played for James and the Lakers. Still, if he can maintain this current level of production, there is no doubt that every person on James’ list of doubters will have to eat their words.
