Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is certainly one of LeBron James’ biggest rivals.
After all, the two former MVPs faced off in four straight NBA Finals.
Despite the fact that many believe James is the greatest NBA player ever, Curry left him off of his all-time starting lineup entirely.
When James joined the Lakers back in the summer of 2018, many expected him and Curry to meet in the Western Conference Finals that subsequent season.
However, that prediction was derailed when James suffered a serious groin injury during a Christmas Day matchup versus Curry’s Warriors.
By the time he was able to return from injury, the Lakers were well out of playoff contention.
This season, the Warriors are one of the worst teams in the league due to injuries to Curry and teammate Klay Thompson. Meanwhile, the Lakers are considered amongst the favorites to claim the title.
Perhaps next season the two players will be able to reignite their rivalry.
Whatever happens between the two going forward, fans shouldn’t expect Curry to give James the respect that many believe he deserves anytime soon.
