Stephen Curry Says He Could Drop 60 Points on Anybody in the NBA

Since Kobe Bryant’s devastating Achilles injury in April 2013, Stephen Curry has emerged as perhaps the most lethal offensive player in the NBA.

Yesterday, the Golden State Warriors superstar joined Javale McGee, a former teammate, on Instagram Live and made a terse but bold statement.

“What team, or player on that team that you know is guarding you, do you look at and be like, ‘Oh yeah, I’m getting 60 tonight,’” asked McGee.

“Everybody,” said Curry.

The two-time MVP may be one of the league’s most exciting players, but he’s also one of the most low-key and modest superstars the game has seen.

Despite his reputation as a white-hot shooter and ability to hit shots from extreme distance with a defender in his grill, Curry has never had a 60-point game in the NBA.

The closest he came was in the 2012-13 season when he dropped 54 points on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Curry has missed almost the entire 2019-20 season with a broken left hand. With him and Klay Thompson back in uniform next season, along with a lottery pick, perhaps an exciting playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers will be in order sometime next spring.
