Spencer Dinwiddie Passionately Explains Why Lakers-Dominated Squad Would Beat Teammates Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant

In a battle of two hypothetical teams of past and current NBA All-Stars, Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie chose a squad with three Los Angeles Lakers players over one that had two of his present teammates.

His non-selection of the team that consisted of his Nets teammates Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant might be surprising.

However it is hard to argue with his reasoning for doing so. After all, the option he chose had Shaquille O’Neal, one of the most dominant big men, if not the most, in league history.

After being selected first by the Orlando Magic in the 1992 NBA Draft, O’Neal to take the league by storm. He won Rookie of the Year and led his team to the NBA Finals in just his third season.

In 1996, he signed with the Lakers and not long after, sealed his legacy as one of the best to ever play the game. Together with another Lakers legend, the late Kobe Bryant, O’Neal won a three-peat from 2000 to 2002.

O’Neal in his prime could probably lead any team to victory. Moreso if he were flanked by four other all-time greats, including the aforementioned Bryant, current Lakers All-Star LeBron James and two NBA MVPs in Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It is not known how Irving and Durant responded, but 26-year-old guard was quick to shower his teammates with love.

However, like Dinwiddie said, it is impossible to see anyone going toe to toe for an entire game against a prime O’Neal.
