Shams Charania Predicts Lakers to Win Championship This Season

There are a lot of doubters out there when it comes to the Los Angeles Lakers, but renowned NBA insider Shams Charania is not one of them.

In a recent breakdown of 2020 NBA Finals predictions, both Charania and veteran NBA writer Sam Amick predicted the Lakers to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy by season’s end.

When it comes to the Lakers’ chances of winning it all this season, their hopes rest firmly on the shoulders of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. If both superstar players can stay healthy throughout the season and postseason, there is little doubt the Lakers will be difficult to beat.

After all, a strong argument can be made that they make one of the most talented duos the NBA has ever seen, though health has been a concern for both players as of late.

Last season, James missed a career-high 27 games due to injury. Davis missed 26 games last season and has never played an entire 82-game season in his seven-year career.

For both players, load management will likely factor in heavily as the Lakers look to compete for a high seed in the Western Conference.
