The Los Angeles Lakers needed an overtime period to defeat the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, but LeBron James had an opportunity to end it in regulation.
James missed a 19-foot jumper with 1.5 seconds left in regulation.
Despite the big win, James’ longtime friend and former teammate Richard Jefferson couldn’t help but clown the four-time MVP for the missed game-winner.
Luckily for James, his team was able to get the win in overtime, 120-116.
Despite the missed game-winner, James’ performance in the game was nothing short of masterful. He finished with 32 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds.
Superstar running mate Anthony Davis was also a major reason for the victory. He finished with 33 points, 10 rebounds, and a pair of assists, steals and blocks.
Wednesday’s win marked the Lakers’ final game prior to the NBA’s All-Star Weekend. Both Davis and James will star in the weekend’s main event.
The next time James will suit up in the Purple and Gold will be in a Feb. 21 matchup versus the Memphis Grizzlies.
