Report: Rajon Rondo Worried After Being Told Calf Injury Similar to Kevin Durant’s

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo has been working to return from injury all season long.

While his return is reportedly imminent, the veteran guard has decided not to rush things when he was told that his injury was similar to that of star Kevin Durant prior to his catastrophic Achilles rupture in last season’s NBA Finals series.

At the time of Durant’s Achilles rupture, many fans and experts alike speculated whether or not the preceding injury led to the one that is expected to keep him out of the entire 2019-20 season.

Many also wondered if Durant had rushed himself back to the court as to not face backlash from members within the Golden State Warriors organization.

Whether or not any of that is founded in reality is up for debate. What is not up for debate is that Rondo and the Lakers are very wise to take it as slow as the veteran guard needs to be back to 100 percent.

While the Lakers have fared quite well without Rondo and are currently atop the Western Conference with a record of 7-2, there is no doubt that he will be a great addition to the rotation.

Throughout his career, Rondo has been known as an old school point guard who looks to make the pass and play lockdown defense rather than search for his own shot.

With teammates like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma, that pass-first mentality could help the Lakers take their offense to the next level. Lakers basketball has been incredibly fun for fans so far this season, and Rondo’s return will likely only make it more so.

When that return comes exactly, however, seems to still be up in the air.
