The Los Angeles Lakers’ 2019-20 roster will be practically unrecognizable compared to last season’s squad, but one familiar face still taking the court could be veteran point guard Rajon Rondo.
Based on a report earlier this week, the Lakers are interested in bringing Rondo back for a second season with the team.
Last summer, Rondo was one of the many veterans that the Lakers signed to a one-year contract.
Though he ultimately competed in just 46 games last season due to injury, he was quite productive during his time on the court with 9.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
It is also crucial to mention that Rondo is one of the few players in the league who has experience playing with both LeBron James and newly signed All-Star big man Anthony Davis.
In fact, one of the Rondo’s best seasons in recent memory took place with New Orleans when he and Davis helped lead the Pelicans to the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.
If he comes back to L.A., all that and more will be expected of Rondo as the Lakers begin a pivotal campaign.
