Report: Lakers Release MRI Results for Anthony Davis

Los Angeles Lakers fans feared the worst when newly acquired superstar Anthony Davis went down with an injured thumb on Oct. 12 against the Brooklyn Nets.

However, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Davis underwent an MRI today, and the results came back clean.

This likely means that the injury is nothing more than a Grade 1 sprain. Nonetheless, the Lakers would be wise to sit Davis out the rest of the preseason until they take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 22 at Staples Center.

That would give Davis a little over a week to recover, though mild sprains can take a bit longer to recover from depending on the person.
