In the final hours before the NBA trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers have removed Kyle Kuzma in any trade talks concerning New York Knicks forward Marcus Morris.
This season, the 30-year-old Morris is averaging 19.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game for the Knicks, who have one of the worst records in the league at 15-36.
Kuzma’s name has been mentioned in numerous trade discussion with multiple teams in the past few months.
He’s in his third year as a member of the Lakers, and at age 24, is continuing to develop as a player, averaging 13.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this season.
The decision to pull Kuzma out of those trade talks presumably means that he’ll be coming off the bench when the Lakers host the Houston Rockets on Thursday night at Staples Center.
