The buyout market continues to roll, as it was recently reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that the Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as frontrunners to sign power forward Markieff Morris.
Morris was recently bought out by his former team, the Detroit Pistons.
He would be a welcome addition on a Lakers squad that lacks a tough-nosed, gritty player like Morris.
The team most recently missed out on Morris’ brother Marcus, who was traded to Los Angeles Clippers from the New York Knicks.
The Lakers were then unable to sign either Darren Collison or Reggie Jackson, who also joined the Clippers.
Although identical twins, Marcus Morris does have the better career numbers, as Markieff Morris’ numbers have digressed over the years.
