Report: Lakers Exercise $3.5 Million Team Option on Kyle Kuzma
- Updated: October 17, 2019
The Los Angeles Lakers have officially decided to exercise their $3.5 million team option on forward Kyle Kuzma for the 2020-21 NBA season, according to the team’s official website.
As a 18.7 points per game scorer last season, adding Kuzma’s $3.5 million salary was apparently a no-brainer. The dynamic forward averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game during the 2018-19 season.
One department in which Kuzma saw a drop-off was actually in his 3-point percentage. During his rookie season, he shot the ball at a 36.6 percent clip from beyond the arc, while dipping to just 30.3 percent in his sophomore campaign.
Lakers fans are hoping that with the addition of Anthony Davis and LeBron James, Kuzma’s 3-point percentage will be the highest it’s ever been this upcoming season.
