The entire NBA has been turned upside down due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The suspension of team activities has forced the Los Angeles Lakers to think outside the box when it comes to staying sharp for a title run that they hope will resume in the not-so-distant future.
In fact, the Lakers will soon begin holding group video workouts to maintain team chemistry.
“I’m told the Lakers and Clippers have looked into the video conferencing app Zoom as a way to maintain group workouts with their respective teams and continue to build camaraderie and a championship mindset whenever these two teams resume play,” Shams Charania reported. “The Clippers have already started this process in group settings, and the Lakers are expected to do so soon.”
The internet and social media have served as a saving grace for millions of people around the world while they practice self-isolation and social distancing.
Apps such as Zoom and Skype have allowed people to maintain businesses and keep in touch with family members and friends in this uniquely isolating time.
It seems it is no different in the NBA.
While the Lakers have no idea when they will once again be able to take the court as a team, it looks like they are committed to staying close and keeping their focus on winning the 2020 NBA title no matter how long it takes until a champion is finally crowned.
