NBA Releases Last Two Minute Report From Controversial Celtics-Lakers Game

The NBA released on Monday its Last Two Minute Report (L2M) concerning the Los Angeles Lakers game on Sunday against the Boston Celtics, with all of the whistled and non-calls in question being ruled as properly called.

The L2M analysis only looks at NBA games that were within three points at any time during the final two minutes of play.

The Lakers defeated the Celtics, 114-112, with the final minute of action taking longer because of what were perceived as controversial calls by the game’s officials.

Some of those calls that were deemed questionable included a foul call by the Celtics’ Daniel Theis on the Lakers’ Anthony Davis.

Another play that took more than five minutes to rule involved whether Davis or a Celtics player had touched a ball that went out of bounds.

The Lakers won that judgment, with LeBron James subsequently connecting on a shot to give them a one-point lead.

They also emerged on the winning side regarding an offensive foul on the Celtics’ Jayson Tatum and a technical foul given to their head coach, Brad Stevens.

The victory gave the Lakers a season record of 43-12, which includes two victories since returning from the All-Star break. They will next be in action on Tuesday night, when they host the New Orleans Pelicans, the former team of Davis, who was acquired during the offseason.
