The question about who is the greatest basketball player of all time between LeBron James and Michael Jordan is the hottest topic in sports right now.
However, Meredith Cash of Insider, helped portray where each state in America stood on the passionate debate between the Los Angeles Lakers forward and Chicago Bulls icon.
“Jordan narrowly edged out James, with 26 states favoring the Chicago Bulls legend over the Los Angeles Lakers superstar,” Cash wrote. “Twenty-four states — primarily located in the South and West — chose James, while Jumpman dominated the Northeast and, unsurprisingly, the Midwest.
The explosion in comparisons started after ESPN’s series premiere of the “The Last Dance” on Sunday.
The 10-part series depicts Jordan’s last season with the Bulls, a stint that shows and reminds people how dominant the six-time champion was in his playing days.
On the contrary, some have used the clips to argue that James is playing in a harder era and dealing with more pressure. In fact, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins extracted from the documentary that James is held to a higher standard than Jordan.
Nonetheless, the sharp disagreements and entertaining discussions are giving fans something to talk about. Sports, throughout the country, are on pause due to the novel coronavirus.
