Since he was shut down for the 2018-19 season towards the end of March, LeBron James, for the most part, has been laying low.
But on Thursday he hinted on social media that he will be coming out with a vengeance during the 2019-20 campaign.
James, a four-time regular season MVP, three-time NBA champion and three-time Finals MVP, had a disappointing first season with the Los Angeles Lakers as they failed to make the playoffs.
The team was ravaged by injuries starting in December, which included a strained groin that forced James to miss 17 games at midseason. Some also accused him of showing bad leadership and apparently being disconnected from his teammates during the second half of the season.
Still, James put up impressive numbers after his return from his groin injury, as he averaged 28.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game on 50.3 percent shooting from the field after the All-Star break.
He hasn’t had an offseason this long since he last missed the playoffs in his second season. Prior to the 2018-19 season, James had advanced to the championship series eight years in a row.
