Amidst all the fear and uncertainty surrounding the NBA’s hiatus due to the novel coronavirus, there appears to be some hope for the future of the Los Angeles Lakers.
LeBron James recently said on social media that he wants to remain with the Purple and Gold for the rest of his career.
Over the years, James has bounced around from team to team.
James’ statement on social media may be at least somewhat comforting to Lakers fans who may be wondering if James may jump ship not too long from now.
Some in the organization have believed since the start of this season that the team, as presently constituted, only has a two-year window to win an NBA championship.
If James remains with the Lakers past his current contract, which runs through 2022, perhaps that window could be extended a bit.
To extend that championship window, the Lakers will likely need a potent scorer, creator and ball-handler at guard to take some load off of James.
