LeBron James and Anthony Davis have had very little to argue about this season, but the Los Angeles Lakers-Sacramento Kings game may have shown us what that looks like.
During a timeout in the fourth quarter of Friday’s game, James and Davis appeared to be having a heated conversation about something that happened on the floor earlier. With the Lakers clinging to a precarious 97-95 lead with 56.1 seconds to go, tempers may have been high between the two stars.
More than likely, however, this is the kind of intense conversation that superstars engage in when the game hangs in the balance and the slightest mistake can cost the game.
Regardless of the issue, James and Davis were on the same page when it came to winning time as they both rose to the challenge to take down the Kings in the final minute.
James knocked down two pressure-packed free throws with 5.5 seconds to go to give the Lakers a 99-97 lead. Davis, on the other hand, blocked Harrison Barnes’ attempt to tie the game and send it to overtime. He also cleared the defensive rebound to secure the Lakers’ 10th win in 12 games this season.
James led all scorers with 29 points and added four rebounds and 11 assists. Davis scored 17 points with only five rebounds, but blocked four shots including the game-saving swat on Barnes.
