During their 103-96 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers had an injury scare as Avery Bradley sustained what appeared to be a lower leg injury during the fourth quarter.
After the game, head coach Frank Vogel gave the media a brief update on Bradley.
Luckily, X-rays were negative.
Bradley has started each of the Lakers’ six games and had averaged 9.6 points a game coming into Sunday’s contest.
Against the Spurs, he had a strong outing with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field before exiting the game with 6:14 remaining in the final frame.
Thus far this season, Bradley’s defense on opposing point guards has been key in a Lakers defense that may be emerging as one of the best in the NBA.
The Lakers are already somewhat shorthanded in the backcourt, as veteran Rajon Rondo has yet to play in the regular season due to a calf strain.
