Lakers News: Anthony Davis Will ‘Try to Play’ Tuesday vs. Indiana Pacers

Anthony Davis is reportedly not looking forward to resting on Tuesday for his team’s upcoming game against the Indiana Pacers despite nursing a sore ankle.

Though this might be a good reason for the Los Angeles Lakers big man to get some rest, the goal is purportedly to play in the next game.

Davis tweaked his right ankle during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. He continued to play even though he was visibly limping from then on.

After the Lakers defeated the Hawks 101-96, Davis explained why he kept playing after the incident.

“I just wanted to finish the game,” Davis said. “I tweaked it a little bit, but just try to play the rest of the game off of adrenaline and then tend to it after the game.”

Asked how the ankle is feeling after the game, Davis offered an update.

“A little sore, but I got a couple of days to get it right before Indiana,” Davis replied.

LeBron James will need a healthy Anthony Davis if they want to extend their road winning streak to 15 games. If they win their matchup versus the Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, this Lakers team would be one win away from tying the league record of 16 consecutive road wins held by the 1971-72 Lakers.

The Pacers are sixth overall in the Eastern Conference with an 18-9 record, while the Lakers are currently tied for the best record in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks at 24-3.
