Lakers Locker Room Responds With ‘Shock’ to Video of Delonte West Getting Beaten Down

Yesterday, two videos of Delonte West apparently recorded in the Washington, D.C. area went viral on social media.

Many were shocked when they saw these videos, and the Los Angeles Lakers’ players were no exception.

The first video appears to show West being beaten up while lying on the ground of a D.C. area freeway. The second one shows West being detained and questioned about an incident, only to go into a profanity-laced rant

James was teammates with West for two-and-a-half seasons on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although West was a significant contributor to a team that had the NBA’s best record in back-to-back seasons, he and James were implicated in a wild off-the-court rumor.

West last played in the NBA during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. Afterward, he spent one season playing in China, then returned to the States.

For several years now, there have been rumors that he’s been dealing with bipolar disorder and is homeless. West has denied both rumors, although he has admitted he’s dealt with mental health issues while disputing his diagnosis of bipolar disorder.

Since those two videos went viral, a number of individuals in the basketball community have reportedly reached out to help West.
