Despite his sterling resume over the years, Carmelo Anthony has become something of a polarizing figure in NBA circles lately. He’ll be a sure-fire Hall of Famer once he’s eligible, but there’s also ample evidence that he has next-to-nothing left in the tank.

In early August, reports surfaced that Anthony had reached out to the Lakers and gauged their interest in signing him. Those reports were intriguing since Anthony has been close friends with LeBron James for many years.
