On Saturday, ESPN reported that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green had agreed to a four-year, $100 million max extension deal.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma had an interesting reaction on social media to the story.
Green, a 29-year-old, 6-foot-7, 230-pound power forward, has been an integral part of a Warriors team that has advanced to the NBA Finals each of the last five seasons and won three championships. He has been named to the NBA All-Star Game three times, an All-Defensive team each of the last five years and was named the 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year.
Green is also something of Swiss Army knife, as he’s averaged 8.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game the last five seasons while giving the Warriors an additional ball-handler in transition to go along with Stephen Curry.
Earlier this summer, the Warriors also signed fellow All-Star Klay Thompson to a max contract and acquired first-time All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell after losing Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets.
Although Thompson is expected to miss most, if not all of the 2019-20 season, the team is expected to remain a strong and competitive team in a Western Conference that has gotten even deeper and tougher than last season.
