Superstar funnyman Kevin Hart recently took to social media to share an incredible story about late Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant.
However, within the inspiring anecdote also came a hilarious story.
“We didn’t even know that he was practicing on us until the head coach made us all feel stupid for not working as hard as we was,” said Hart.
“Needless to say that’s when my NBA dreams were shattered because one night I talked to Kobe and I said, ‘Hey man, where do you think I’m probably gonna end up going? Like D1 wise, where should I go?’ Kobe just looked at me and laughed and walked away.
“I didn’t know if that was to s— on my talent, or just to say that I got a pick of my choice. Guess until this day, I gotta figure it out. More importantly, it’s a moment that I’ll never forget. Young Kobe, young Kevin, and we both grew up to do amazing things. You are missed, brother. I love you.”
On Saturday, Bryant was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame. What should have been a moment of total celebration, was instead filled with a great deal of sadness as well.
One small silver lining is that his family, friends and former colleagues have enough stories about Bryant to last a lifetime.
Though fans will never get the joy of seeing him in person again, his legacy will last forever.
