When the Los Angeles Lakers held a 17-2 record at the end of November, some critics weren’t that impressed, citing the team’s relatively easy schedule up to that point.
Since then, the Purple and Gold have won back-to-back games on the road against the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz.
Following Wednesday’s win, veteran Jared Dudley addressed the critics on Twitter.
Although the Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks on Dec. 1, Los Angeles also did defeat them in Texas in early November in an intense back-and-forth contest.
The Lakers rebounded from that loss and won a tough game in Denver on Tuesday, as LeBron James and Anthony Davis scored 25 points apiece.
Then on Wednesday, they silenced the Jazz, 121-96. The game marked a total domination of a team that had title aspirations entering the 2019-20 campaign.
The Lakers made it a one-sided affair, outpacing the Jazz in fast break points (32-5), field-goal shooting percentage (51.1 percent to 41.0 percent), rebounding (46-40), assists (27-20) and turnovers forced (18-7).
Los Angeles will complete arguably its toughest road trip of the season on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
