Ice Cube Takes Brutal Shot at Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for Choosing Clippers Over Lakers

This offseason was a mixture of highs and lows for the Los Angeles Lakers and their huge fan base. While adding Anthony Davis was a huge victory, watching Kawhi Leonard choose the Los Angeles Clippers over the Lakers was something of a gut punch.

Now, LeBron James and Davis will have to take on Leonard and Paul George for the foreseeable future.

If you ask famed rapper and native Angelino Ice Cube, George’s and Leonard’s decision to join the Clippers over the Lakers reflects badly on them.

“I wish they would have come to the Lakers, but I guess they picked the team that they were more comfortable playing with,” Cube said of Leonard and George. “You got to be special to play for the Lakers. You have to be ready for all that comes with that. Those championship banners and those jerseys are looking down at you when you play for the Lakers, and it’s probably easier to play if you cover those up for some people.”

Both Leonard and George had been connected to the Lakers in the past. At different points in time, it seemed as though both were destined to don the Purple and Gold.

Ultimately, Leonard’s desire to create his own superstar duo rather than join James and Davis led to the power struggle that currently exists in L.A.

The one fascinating aspect of this offseason’s developments is that many fans and experts alike have seemingly written the Lakers off. It seems they have forgotten that James, a four-time MVP, and Davis, one of the true freak athletes in the NBA, are going to be leading the charge for the Lakers.

While everyone knows both players are special on their own, it will be up to James and Davis to prove that they can be special together.
