Giannis Antetokounmpo Says It Would Be ‘Awesome’ to Play in Los Angeles

Giannis Antetokounmpo is widely considered to be one of the best basketball players in the world right now.

Coming off of an MVP season last year, the Greek national is currently averaging 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game this season.

In fact, many experts believe that if the Los Angeles Lakers advance to the NBA Finals this season, they’ll have to defeat Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks to be named champions.

While Antetokounmpo will likely face off against the Lakers in this season’s NBA Finals, a recent statement by the 6-foot-11 baller indicates that he may one day end up playing in L.A.

Currently, Antetokounmpo plays with his older brother, Thanasis, in Milwaukee.

As Lakers fans know, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s younger brother, Kostas, is currently on a two-way contract with the Lakers.

Considering the reigning MVP’s incredible ability on the basketball court, this brief statement could be enough to convince the Lakers to sign Kostas Antetokounmpo to a long-term deal in the hopes that his older brother will follow him to L.A.

If the Antetokounmpo brothers do end up all playing together in the future, it likely won’t be until the 2021-22 season.

That’s because the two brothers currently on the Bucks are signed through the 2020-21 season.

If Giannis Antetokounmpo does end up testing the free agent market in the 2021 offseason, it is quite likely that he will be considered the biggest offseason prize for a team since LeBron James joined the Lakers in 2018.
