The Los Angeles Lakers continue to mourn the death of franchise legend Kobe Bryant.

With the team set to play its first game since Bryant’s tragic passing on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said his squad is getting lost in the work of preparation.

Bryant died at the age of 41 in a helicopter crash that killed nine people on Sunday.

The Lakers were scheduled to play against the Los Angeles Clippers this past Tuesday, though the NBA wisely decided to postpone that contest.

As expected, several players and employees of the franchise are taking the devastating news very difficultly.

Yet, the team has got together and grieved, reminisced and bonded in the wake of the icon’s death.

During his amazing career in the NBA, Bryant recorded 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assist per game.

In addition, he captured five championships, two NBA Finals MVPs, two Olympic gold medals and much more. The 20-year veteran was an idol and role model to so many of the league’s players.

While it will be hard for the Lakers to get back on the court and quickly process everything that’s happened, they will surely play inspired and motivated in honor of Bryant.
