Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel told reporters on Sunday that the team hasn’t closed the door on a potential DeMarcus Cousins return this season.
Cousins, 29, signed a veteran’s minimum deal with the Lakers this past summer.
However, the big man unfortunately suffered a torn ACL injury during an offseason workout. Cousins has been ravaged by multiple injures over the last few years, leading to key absences and the lack of a huge payday.
Yet, the University of Kentucky product has worked hard time and time again to make it back on the court.
Now, it appears Cousins is giving the Lakers hope he can join the team’s championship run this season. After all, with superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis on his side, Cousins may never get a shot to compete like this again.
The 6-foot-10 center has career averages of 21.2 points, 10.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.
