There is a real chance that the NBA 2019-20 season doesn’t resume.
In a Q&A with Mike Trudell of Lakers.com, Los Angeles Lakers veteran Danny Green admitted that the prospect of the NBA season being over is getting more real.
“I’ve been talking to some people at the NBA, about how it’s an hour-by-hour type deal, and not to (necessarily) believe different (reports) about what’s going to happen,” Green said. “I can’t really believe that the season is going to be over, but as we’re taking precautions and every city is shutting down, it’s becoming more real.”
Green, 32, is in his first season with the Lakers.
The shooting guard is putting up 8.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game this season. He signed a two-year, $30 million deal with Lakers last summer.
Before the coronavirus forced the NBA to suspend its season, the Lakers were anticipated to go far in the 2020 playoffs. As a matter of fact, many folks expected the Lakers to win the championship this season.
One of the core pieces in that championship puzzle was Green. The veteran has a knack for being a strong role player on winning teams.
The sharpshooter just won a ring with Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors last year. Furthermore, he assisted San Antonio Spurs legends Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili in capturing a championship in 2014.
The journeyman has career averages of 8.1 points and 3.3 boards on 39.7 percent shooting from downtown.
