Cooper Flagg vs. Bronny James tickets selling for historic prices in Summer League

The Los Angeles Lakers will get their first taste of 2025 Las Vegas Summer League action on Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks, and tickets for the game are selling for historic prices.

Courtside tickets are going for $2,500, making that the most expensive Summer League ticket of all time. The game will feature Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg and rising Lakers sophomore Bronny James.

Flagg and James will attract eyeballs during Las Vegas Summer League action for different reasons.

The Mavs rookie will garner attention because he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and may be the most exciting NBA draft pick since the San Antonio Spurs selected big man Victor Wembanyama.

Flagg just wrapped up a collegiate season in which he took home all sorts of honors and averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

James, meanwhile, remains an intriguing story due largely to who his father is, but the 20-year-old also showed flashes of potential last season that he is looking to build on this summer.

He has already appeared in one Summer League game for Los Angeles (in the California Classic) and scored 10 points in that outing. He had his moments in the NBA last season and took full advantage of his G League reps, as he averaged 18.6 points per contest across 18 total games at that level.

It’s widely recognized that Flagg likely has a higher ceiling than James, but both players have a chance to earn meaningful roles in the NBA this coming season. They’re both set to play for teams that have championship aspirations.

For now, Flagg and James are focused on their Summer League reps, and the two of them will get a chance to show each other what they’ve got this week. Hopefully, anybody paying a hefty price to see Thursday’s game will be treated to a show.

Las Vegas Summer League play will start on Thursday and run through July 20, when a champion will be crowned. Last season, the Miami Heat were able to take home the Las Vegas Summer League crown.
