The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday afternoon, but star big man Anthony Davis notched quite a few personal wins on the court during the game.
In the second quarter of the game, Davis backed Mavericks big man Kristaps Porzingis down inside on his way to an easy basket. After overpowering Porzingis, he let the 2018 All-Star know exactly what he thought about him.
Davis had a strong game, finishing with 27 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Despite that, the Lakers lost 114-100 to a Mavs team that has now won seven of their last eight games.
As for Davis and the Lakers, Sunday’s defeat marked their first since their Nov. 10 loss to the defending champion Toronto Raptors.
L.A. won’t have much time to regroup before facing another strong opponent. They’re now headed to Denver to take on the Nuggets on Tuesday. In that game, Davis will have another opportunity to assert his dominance over a star big man when he takes on Nikola Jokic.
